Jessica Simpson's Daughter Maxwell Is 'Beautiful and Peaceful'; Celebrities Congratulate The Couple (PHOTO, TWEETS)

Finally the much-touted overdue pregnancy of Jessica Simpson has come to an end with the birth of her baby girl Tuesday morning.

The 31-year-old Fashion Star gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 9 lbs in a Los Angeles hospital, and reports say both mother and daughter are doing fine.

The Fashion Star at “170-pounds” was eager to hold her baby “in arms and not in the belly” and her wish has come true with a beautiful angel, whom she is calling by a “non-traditional” name— “Maxwell.”

Simpson and her finace Eric Johnson announced the arrival of their first-born bundle of joy on her website Tuesday evening.

Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson, she wrote. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!

Despite speculation surrounding her huge baby bump and some medical complications, the child was born peacefully. In fact, the couple had hosted a mini family get together just a few hours before the delivery.

The party included Joe and Tina Simpson, a source told US Weekly. They all sat at a corner table together and were in good spirits. The family was joking about astrological signs and what traits various family members had, and what the new baby could be like. Tina said she felt Jessica was in good spirits while others joked Eric seemed to be the nervous one.

Simpson’s sister Ashlee, 27, told People: Jessica has wanted to be a mom since we were little girls and I couldn't be more excited for her and Eric!

She said she and her 3-yer-old son are “already in love with Maxwell.

“Maxwell is so precious and peaceful,” Grandmother Tina said, a source close to the family told US magazine.

Simpson’s child was one of the most anticipated babies of the year, considering the hoopla and extravagant publicity surrounding her longer-than-9-month gestation period and changing due dates.

Earlier this week, her fans and co-stars like Katy Perry, Chelsea Handler and Snooki expressed their sentiments and anxiousness over her seemingly endless pregnancy.

Furthermore, earlier Tuesday people started tweeting Jessica Simpson is finally letting her baby out... and later while she was in labor raido host Ryan Seacrest wrote “Finally! @JessicaSimpson is at the hospital having her baby! Good luck jess #PUSH.”

“She’s arrived! @JessicaSimpson gave birth to baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson! 9lbs 13oz.” he wrote on Twitter announcing the birth of Simpson’s little Maxi.

Soon after the news came out, scores of congratulatory messages and blessings from celebrities and co-stars started pouring in on social media sites.

The first one was of Maxi’s maternal grandfather Joe Simpson. He wrote on Twitter, Proud PaPaJoe !! Beautiful baby girl... What a miracle!

Other celebrities including pregnant Snooki and Alyson Hannigan also congratulated the couple on Twitter.

Snooki wrote: Congrats to Jessica Simpson for having a beautiful baby!!! So exciting!, while Alyson joked and said in a lighter vein, “Congrats to Jessica Simpson! Does this mean I now have the biggest baby bump in Hollywood?

Apart from Snooki, her Jersey Shore co-star Sammi Giancola tweeted, “Congrats @jessicasimpson!”

Talk show host Ellen DeDeneres wrote: “@JessicaSimpson had a baby girl! Welcome to the world, Maxwell Drew! I guess she’s naming her second baby Ellen.”

Dear Jessica Simpson. I think pregnant women look perfect just they way they are! Jenny McCarthy tweeted.

Vivica A. Fox wrote, Congratulations 2 my girl Jessica Simpson on the birth of a healthy baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson! What a blessing 4 her n her family.

Simpson announced her pregnancy last Halloween before getting engaged with boyfriend Eric Johnson. Maxwell is the first child of the couple together.
