Jhene Aiko's Estranged Husband Dot Da Genius Denies He Was Abusive Toward The 'Remember' Singer
Jhene Aiko's estranged husband Dot Da Genius (Olapido Omishore) has spoken out about allegations that he abused the “Remember” singer.
The producer took to Instagram to air his side, saying he is a peaceful person so he does not usually air his personal issues in public. Being accused of abuse is something that does not sit well with him, though, Omishore said, so he is breaking his silence.
“I believe the truth must be heard, which is that I've never been violent or abusive towards any woman in my life,” the producer said, adding, “Such behavior is abhorrent to me and far from how I conduct myself.”
Omishore also said that people should just wait for the truth to come out.
Omishore's statement comes a couple of days after Aiko replied to a question by a fan on Twitter. Asking why she filed for divorce, the “Spotless Mind” singer hinted that he was in an abusive relationship with the producer.
“Never let a man disrespect u in any way. Major key,” Aiko said.
Aiko recently filed for divorce after 11 months of marriage, according to TMZ. The singer cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup, and she did not ask for spousal support.
Prior to the filing, there have been rumors that Aiko ended her relationship with Omishore because of “I Don't F**k With You” rapper Big Sean (Sean Michael Leonard Anderson). The rumors started swirling when the two released a joint album titled “Twenty88” early this year. Aiko and Anderson have been trading sweet messages on social media. There was also an instance where the two shared a kiss after a performance.
While the two have not addressed whether they are in a relationship, rumors were fueled when Aiko released a track called “New Balance.” On the track, she sings, “It hit me like a tidal wave/ Knew that I was in love with you right away. Turned all my days into brighter days/ Even when people say what we do is not OK.”
