Jill Dillard Posts To Instagram After Husband Derick Pulled From TLC’s ‘Counting On’

Jill Dillard has spoken, but not about her husband being let go by TLC. Amid the network’s bombshell update that Derick Dillard would not be appearing on future episodes of “Counting On” due to his “personal statements,” Jill took to social media over the weekend to post about a different topic: her baby.

“Happy baby!” Jill captioned a shot of her and Derick’s 4-month-old son, Samuel Scott. While the photo, which has over 76K likes, mentioned nothing about Derick leaving the docuseries, that didn’t stop fans from discussing the recent events in the comments section.

“Please teach him to accept everyone and not judge like your husband,” posted one fan. “TLC banned Derick for his ugly statements about Jazz Jennings. I’m so disappointed your support such collectivism. Every human has natural rights and your husband used religionism to try to oppress another,” wrote another fan. “TLC should cancel all the Duggar shows,” said one follower.

As previously reported, TLC announced on Saturday that they had “no plans” for feature Derick in any upcoming episodes of the show and stated that he had not participated in the series for months. The network’s comments came on the heels of several tweets from Derick slamming TLC’s “I Am Jazz” star Jazz Jennings. Derick first posted about Jazz in August, calling transgender “a myth.”

“We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statement do not reflect the views of the network,” TLC wrote on Twitter. “TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so.”

Like Jill, Derick has not directly responded to being let go from “Counting On,” though he has posted to Instagram since the scandal. On Sunday night, the father of two shared a quote from evangelical Christian pastor Rick Warren to his account.

“Our culture has accepted two huge lies,” read the captionless post. “The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear of hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”

The Duggar family has not yet addressed Derick’s leave from the show, but the Duggar Family Blog, which is run by friends of the Arkansas brood, did confirm Derick was being pulled from the program on Saturday.

“TLC has released a statement regarding Derick’s future on the show,” the blog posted. “For those who are not aware of what ‘personal statements’ TLC is referring to, Derick has publicly shared his views against transgenderism, while mentioning the TLC program ‘I Am Jazz,’ which follows the life of transgender teen Jazz Jennings.”

“Counting On” has yet to be renewed for a new season by TLC, though recent comments from Jinger Vuolo’s mother-in-law make it seem like new episodes could already be in the works.
