Jill Duggar, Derick Dillard Of '19 Kids And Counting’ Announce Pregnancy Two Months After Wedding

The Duggar clan is about to get bigger. After less than two full months of marriage, “19 Kids & Counting” star Jill Duggar is pregnant.

“We’re having a baby!” Duggar, 23, and husband Derick Dillard announced to People magazine Wednesday. The newly married TLC reality-TV star says she and Dillard, a 25-year-old accountant and former missionary in Nepal, are thrilled to be expecting their first child together. “Both of us are so excited,” said Dillard.

Duggar says the pregnancy came as a shock after several tests all came up negative until mother Michelle Duggar, 48, intervened. "Jill was persuaded by her sisters to take one of her mom Michelle’s tests while she and Derick were visiting her parents’ home,” reported People.

“It was surreal,” said Dillard. “We were shocked.”

Duggar reportedly confirmed her pregnancy, and March 2015 due date, in front of her 19 siblings last month. “They gathered everyone in the living room and shared the news,” said dad Jim Bob, 49. “Everyone was clapping and cheering, and we were in shock, too.”

The young couple married in front of 1,000 family and friends in Springdale, Arkansas, on June 21. The couple, who waited until their wedding day to share their first kiss, began dating last November. The ceremony will be featured on the Sept. 2 episode of TLC’s “19 Kids & Counting."

Jill Duggar is the second child and the first daughter of “19 Kids & Counting” brood to tie the knot. The family’s oldest child, Josh Duggar, wed his wife Anna in 2008. The couple have three children together.

After eleven months of dating Ben Seewald, 19, the Duggar’s third oldest daughter, Jessa Duggar, 21, announced her engagement last Friday. “We are so blessed to be engaged,” Duggar said in a statement. “God has written an amazing story through our courtship, and another chapter has just begun. We are thrilled to see what the future holds, especially the wedding bells!”

“19 Kids & Counting” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on TLC.
