Jim Parsons of Big Bang Theory Headed to Broadway
Jim Parsons, best known for winning two Emmys for his portrayal of the borderline obsessive-compulsive genius Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, is going to Broadway to star in a revival of Harvey.
This is Parson's second straight season with a Broadway show, Entertainment Weekly reported. Last year, he starred in a revival of Normal Heart.
He will play the role of Elwood P. Dowd, the man whose best friend is the titular invisible rabbit. The role was originally by legendary actor Jimmy Stewart.
Harvey was first performed in 1944 and has become a popular performance for high schools and community theatres.
Parson's performance on The Big Bang Theory has frequently been commended for the nuance he adds to the charmingly weird physicist.
