Jim Tressel Suspended Two Games for Violations
Ohio State continues to make suspensions to their acclaimed football team. This time, it's their coach.
Head football coach Jim Tressel has been fined $250,000 and suspended for the first two games of the 2011 season for his previous knowledge of football players exchanging gifts for tattoos by the university.
Yahoo! Sports reported that Tressel knew that players were selling memorabilia for tattoos as early as April 2010, which is in contrast to his statement that he found out in December 2010.
The report could lead to harsher sanctions by the NCAA, as well as forfeiting wins from this past season.
The players involved in the tattoo controversy include Terrelle Pryor, Daniel Herron, Mike Adams, Devier Posey, and Solomon Thomas who must sit out the first five games of Ohio State's 2011 season.
