Jimmy Fallon's Audience Goes Wild As He And JLo Perform 'The History Of Music Video Dancing'

In a four-minute tour de force performance of “The History of Music Video Dancing” -- which left Jimmy Fallon gasping for oxygen and checking his pulse -- "The Tonight Show" host and Jennifer Lopez raised the roof Tuesday night on his late-night show as his audience erupted in cheers.

Clad in black T-shirts and grey sweatpants with plaid flannel shirts tied around their hips, Jenny From the Block raced through the most memorable video dance moves of the past 30 years at breakneck speed as Fallon admirably kept pace.

Kicking off the medley with MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” the duo segued into songs such as Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up,” The Bangles’ “Walk Like an Egyptian,” TLC’s “Waterfalls”, Britney Spears’ “Oops!... I Did It Again,” NSync’s “Bye Bye Bye,” Drake’s “In My Feelings,” Sia’s “Chandelier” (including blonde wigs), Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Senorita” (nominated for a 2019 Best Choreography VMA), JLo’s own “Waiting for Tonight” (complete with disco lasers), and finally, Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” The crowd also roared as Fallon and Lopez jumped on wrecking balls for Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.”

“Every time I come here, I have to work overtime!” the “Hustlers ” star laughed during her interview following the opening dance performance.

Lopez has been all over NYC this week promoting her new film, including surprising tourists on a double-decker bus with co-star Keke Palmer, and appearing at a New York Fashion Week screening at Metrograph hosted by designer Alexander Wang.

“Hustlers” follows a posse of former strip club employees who team up to turn the tables on their Wall Street customers. Directed by Lorene Scafaria, the film also stars Constance Wu, Cardi B, Lizzo, and Julia Stiles.

Lopez personally tapped rapper Cardi B for the film based on the rapper’s experience as an exotic dancer. Despite her extensive dance background and marathon live shows, Lopez told Fallon that she found pole dancing very challenging, comparing it to acrobatics and gymnastics. As a result, she found Cardi B’s help invaluable.

The film has already earned critical acclaim, including an 89 percent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and early Oscar buzz for its triple-threat star.

“Hustlers” opens in theaters on Friday.​
