Jinger Duggar Broke Courtship ‘Rules’ After Jeremy Vuolo’s Proposal, Mom Michelle Reveals
When Jinger Duggar began her official courtship with Jeremy Vuolo she made it clear they were not sticking to the usual courtship rules Duggar couples set for themselves. Speaking to TLC’s cameras for “Counting On,” she said they were not planning to live by “cookie cutter” relationship guidelines, but it appears they may have crossed the line after their engagement — at least, according to her mom, Michelle Duggar.
During Tuesday’s Season 2 installment of the docuseries, Jinger returned to her family home in Arkansas after Jeremy popped the question in the Big Apple. After showing off her ring to her siblings, and being showed with cards, good wishes and side hugs, Jim Bob Duggar asked his wife how her chaperoning duties went in New York City. Michelle laughed, before revealing her daughter may have bent a few guidelines.
“It’s kind of hard to keep two magnets apart. They definitely are in love,” she told Jim Bob. When he inquired if Jinger and Jeremy engaged in more than the usual side hug, she hinted they may have. “Well, there were a few moments that I think she was totally caught off guard,” she admitted.
While Jinger and Jeremy’s courtship and engagement rules have been fully revealed, Jinger shared during the installment that she and Jeremy are planning to hold hands ahead of their wedding day. The rest of the physical elements, she said, will be left until after marriage.
“I think we’re still going to save our first kiss for the wedding day,” Jinger said. “Jeremy and I have learned just the communication factor of a relationship, making that the priority right now and just being wise with physical affection and boundaries there. Just saving that for marriage.”
Unlike her siblings, Jinger and Jeremy have decided to keep their wedding date and location private, though many signs point it coming soon. The couple has revealed they plan to have an intimate affair with close family and friends and will move to Texas after their nuptials.
