J.K. Rowling Experienced COVID-19 Symptoms: 'Harry Potter' Author Shares Health Update, Advice

On Monday, "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling revealed on Twitter that she had recently experienced COVID-19 symptoms. Hearing the news likely worried her fans, but Rowling assured them that she was on the mend.

In the tweet, she stated that she had been experiencing the symptoms for two weeks leading up to her decision to speak publicly. However, she then added that she can only speculate at this time regarding whether or not she had, in fact, contracted the novel coronavirus.

Continuing, she added that she is now "fully recovered," but a certain technique "helped a lot." Rowling then attached a video of the behavior that she believes could assist others who are currently suffering from the illness during the ongoing pandemic. Her tweet can be seen below.

Following her admission, she then thanked fans a couple of hours later for their "lovely and kind messages." She then added that she really is "completely recovered" and had wanted to use her platform to "share a technique that’s recommended by doctors, costs nothing, has no nasty side effects but could help you/your loved ones a lot, as it did me." Her tweet, which can be seen below, then concluded with the words "Stay safe, everyone x."

This is not the first time that COVID-19 has been connected to the wizarding world. Earlier this year, reports surfaced that said a "Harry Potter" star had contracted the illness himself. However, those were eventually debunked.

Aside from the ways in which the ongoing coronavirus outbreak has affected those around the popular franchise, it has also changed other aspects of the entertainment industry, including altering the way that "Jeopardy!" and "The Wendy Williams Show" filmed their live shows.
