Joe Giudice broke down when he broke the news about the passing of his grandma and his uncle on social media.
The 49-year-old former reality star took to Instagram Sunday to pay tribute to his late family members. He shared a snap featuring his grandma and his uncle, Pasquale, and wrote a short message to update fans on what had happened.
“Just lost my Grandmother, 87, and my Uncle Pasquale, 94, in one day. Very sad night [praying hands emojis],” Giudice captioned the post.
In a follow-up post, he uploaded a photo of him and his grandma sitting side-by-side as they smiled at the camera. He continued to grieve her demise, writing, “Forever in our Hearts [black heart and praying hands emojis].”
His eldest daughter, 22-year-old Gia, comforted the Giudice patriarch by commenting, “Dad, I love you so much [red heart emoji]. She loved you so much.”
Joe shared two more photos. One showed him planting a kiss on his grandma, while the other featured him rocking a black suit and standing next to his grandma. The second picture was seemingly taken from his wedding to ex-wife Teresa Giudice way back in October 1999.
Fans showered all of his posts with sympathy messages as they felt sorry for him losing two family members on the same day.
“So sorry for your loss. Sending prayers to you and the family,” one wrote.
“Sorry to hear of your loss, Joe. Always sad to lose those we love. Not everyone gets to be 87 and 94 years of age. May they both rest easy,” another commented.
“Find comfort knowing that they rejoice in heaven together and with loved ones that have gone before them. Prayers to you and your family,” a third user added.
When the former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star got deported to his native country, Italy, in 2019, he stayed with his grandma in the small Italian town of Sala Consilina. In an interview with Andy Cohen for “Watch What Happens Live,” he shared that his grandma’s house “is small, but it’s fine.”
After staying with his grandma for some time, Joe eventually moved to the Bahamas. He has been staying there since then. Three of his daughters — Gabriella, 17, Milania, 16, and Audriana, 12 — even visited him this past Holy Week.
