Joe Johnson has recently signed with the Detroit Pistons. The former Atlanta Hawks franchise player and current BIG3 MVP is looking to redeem himself after an embarrassing NBA exit last year.

With Detroit, Johnson will be looking to lend his veteran experience to a squad led by all-around forward, Blake Griffin and athletic center Andre Drummond. The Pistons will look to make a deep run, especially with the addition of former MVP Derrick Rose.

But the story revolves on "Iso Joe" Johnson, a former 20-point plus scorer that left the NBA with a bitter note. Before tearing up the competition in Ice Cube's BIG3, Johnson spent his last four years as a member of the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets.

In those four years, "Iso Joe" struggled in the NBA, only averaging 7.3 points per game. His last double-digit output came in the 2015-2016 season, where he played for the post-LeBron James Miami Heat squad.

In the 2017 NBA Playoffs, Johnson was able to drill a go-ahead basket against the LA Clippers in Utah's first series game. He played an essential role for the young Jazz squad led by an up-and-coming All-Star named Gordon Hayward.

The following season, Utah traded Johnson and was dealt with the Sacramento Kings but was subsequently let go. He signed with the Houston Rockets only to play in the dying minutes of regular-season games. That year he averaged a lowly 6 points per game and in the playoffs only saw 6.7 minutes on 17 postseason contests.

His NBA exit was a quick fall of grace from the former scoring guard. In the 2006-2007 season, he averaged his career-best playing for the Atlanta Hawks. Johson put up 25 points per game, along with 4.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists and a steal.

Admittingly, those days are long gone, but for the fans of Johnson, he could have had a better exit, let alone retiring in a more favorable note.

Looking to redeem himself after a disappointing year, "Iso Joe" played for team Triplets in Ice Cube's BIG3. He vowed to prove his doubters that he can still play at a high level, of which he did, setting the new BIG3 record for the most points in a season.

Johnson led four categories; he leads all players with 175 total points. He also has the most assists at 31 dimes, leads the BIG3 with the most field goals at 63 made, and has the most 4-pointers made with four.

He led the Triplets to a championship and undoubtedly picked the interest of several NBA scouts. Ultimately, league sources have confirmed that Joe Johnson has agreed to play for the Pistons.

Joe will share his veteran experience on the court and will be a reliable player in closing out games. He could come off the bench and provide additional firepower to a team that struggled in the three-point line.

Last season, Detroit shot 34.8 percent behind the arc, ranking 23rd in the NBA. The Pistons also finished 25th in points per game with 107 and failed to close out games. He can also guide, Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond, who at times last year continue to turn the ball over for no good reason.

Whether he tears it up in the scoring boards or become the team's vocal veteran, Joe Johnson will surely contribute for the Pistons. With the vital addition of Derrick Rose, Tony Snell and Markief Morris, Detroit will be a team to watch this year. Good Luck Joe!
