Joe Jonas was seen in a "good mood" before news of his break-up with supermodel Gigi Hadid was revealed.

The former Disney star’s split with Hadid became news on Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, but a few hours before that, E!News sources spotted a "happy" Jonas at a hotel in Hollywood. The singer was in a "good mood," said the source, as he hosted the Birchbox Men and Movember Foundation dinner held at Chateau Marmont.

"He was so happy to see his brother [Nick] and be around his friends for the night," the source added. "He was surrounded by his best friends."

Jonas and Hadid were together for five months before the two decided to split up. Another E!News insider revealed that their break-up was amicable and that the former Hollywood couple has decided to "remain friends." According to the source, the reason behind their split was their busy schedules.

An insider also told People magazine that Jonas and Hadid’s relationship only "recently ended." The insider did not mention the exact date when the two split, although the source said that "nothing serious happened…" which pulled Jonas and Hadid apart. "It wasn’t a dramatic break up," the insider explained. "It was just hard to make it work with their schedules."

The two even spent the Halloween weekend apart, according to People magazine. Hadid was seen going solo to Heidi Klum’s annual party in New York. As for Jonas, he was recently spotted during his hosting gig in Hollywood.

Before Hadid and Jonas broke up, the two co-directed the singer's DNCE band’s "Cake by the Ocean" music video. Jonas told People magazine then that Hadid was a "bada---" during the project. He continued, "Everybody really looked up to her to lead and she really came through and showed us that she could do it."

The two started dating this summer, after the supermodel and the DNCE band member broke up with their respective partners. Hadid separated from Cody Simpson, while Jonas split from then girlfriend Blanda Eggenschwiler.
