Joe Jonas opened up about his views on the new generation of men who are comfortable wearing makeup and breaking the male stigma.

"We're all getting older and part of that is being comfortable [in our skin]," Jonas told People in an interview published Tuesday. The singer, who turned 33 Monday, went on to share how he has been using injectables to get rid of fine lines and look more aesthetic.

Jonas explained that one doesn't have to "shy away" from taking care of themselves. "We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth," he added.

He also praised the new generation for breaking the stereotype of men wearing makeup. "There were all these talks at one point, like, 'Oh, men can't do this or it's weird for guys to do that,' and I think there's a stigma that's fading, and I like that."

"Guys are more openly wearing makeup, and it's great to see," he added. "It's like, do whatever you want, you know? It's a beautiful generation that we're living in."

Jonas also admitted that he used to feel a lot of pressure about his looks 10 years ago but now. things have changed for him.

"I feel like at some point you make that decision for yourself — the things that you want to do, the things that you want to wear, even to the hair products you put in your hair," he said. "You get to an age where you just go, 'Okay, I don't feel those pressures anymore.' I think if you had asked me 10 years ago, I would have definitely felt that pressure more."

The "Cake By the Ocean" singer also reflected on him being older and how it is impacting his performance on stage. "Even my voice — I can't sing as many songs and do as many shows back to back," he said. "When I was younger, I had no problem."

He recalled having sleepless nights, traveling to different cities, performing and then celebrating that concert by going out. "You just go, go, go, go, and then you hit a wall of exhaustion," he added.

On the personal front, Jonas is married to actress Sophie Turner. Considering his upcoming projects, he will be appearing in the movie, titled "Devotion" as Marty Goode's character.
