John Stamos Engaged! Fiancée Caitlin McHugh Shares Photo Of Disneyland Proposal

Stamos announced his engagement to McHugh in an Instagram post on Sunday. “I asked … she said yes! … And we lived happily ever after,” the 54-year-old actor captioned a drawing of himself and his girlfriend of nearly two years standing in front of the iconic castle at Disneyland.

McHugh, meanwhile, shared a photo from the actual proposal. In the pic, McHugh is seen kissing Stamos on the lips as they sit on a sofa. Behind them are three giant screens bearing an image of “Little Mermaid’s” Jamaican crab Sebastian holding a banner that says, “Go on and ask the girl.”

A rep for Stamos confirmed to E! News that the “Fuller House” actor proposed to McHugh on Sunday afternoon at Disneyland. “He cut together a film of some of the most romantic moments in Disney and Pixar animation,” the rep revealed. “The film concluded with Sebastian from The Little Mermaid encouraging John to ‘Just ask the girl.’ Caitlin said yes, then John whisked her to 21 Royal where they shared the news and celebrated with their families.”

Like Stamos, McHugh is also an actor. She recurred as Sloan in Season 5 of The CW’s “The Vampire” Diaries and appeared in an episode of Freeform’s “Switched at Birth.”

“He’s very encouraging of anything I want to do career-wise,” McHugh told Entertainment Tonight of Stamos in January. “I really appreciate it a lot. You don’t get that with every guy.”

Earlier this year, Stamos directed McHugh in a short film called “Ingenueish.” “They say if you can do a film together, you can do anything together,” she joked. “I’m very happy to say we survived the filming process and we’re in editing now. We’re both still alive so it’s great!”

Stamos was previously married to actress and former model Rebecca Romijn, whom she met at a Victoria’s Secret fashion show. Stamos and Romijn became engaged on Christmas Eve 1997 and got married on September 1998. But in August 2004, Stamos filed for divorce, which was finalized in March 2005. “The Librarians” actress is now married to Stamos’ “Scream Queens” co-star Jerry O’Connell.
