Johnny Bananas Reacts To ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ Casting Snub
Don’t tune into “Celebrity Big Brother” next month hoping to see Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio.
Despite being featured on a supposed leaked shortlist of potential competitors for the CBS series, “The Challenge” star was not included on the official cast list released over the weekend, and the longtime MTV champ definitely had something to say about it.
After it was revealed during the Grammy Awards on Sunday night that Johnny, 35, was not among the 11 houseguests competing on the 2018 U.S. season of CBS’ “Celebrity Big Brother,” he took to Twitter to slam the network.
Johnny’s comments come just days after he teased his possible participation in the network’s series on Instagram.
Fans shared in Johnny’s disappointment that he wasn’t cast. “Just think what ratings COULD have been if @MTVBananas was on the show,” wrote one fan, calling the casting decision an “epic fail.”
“You could have EASILY won. Sucks that they didn’t pick you,” said another upset fan.
“Really disappointed,” reads another tweet. “Love ‘Big Brother’ but this will be the only season I don’t watch. If Bananas was on I was going to.”
While “BB” viewers won’t see “The Challenge” winner on the small screen next month, some have speculated that Johnny, who is known for being both a physical and political powerhouse, could find his way onto the series’ official season this summer.
“It’s because you’re going to be on Big Brother 20? Right?” asked one supporter.
Johnny has yet to reveal if he was actually in the running for a spot on the show, or if he will be featured in a future season.
“Celebrity Big Brother” fans can still expect quite a season when the premiere kicks off next month. It has been announced that the cast will contain former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Omarosa, singer Mark McGrath, actress Shannon Elizabeth, Metta World Peace, Bradi Glanville from “The Real Housewives,” actress Keshia Knight Pulliam, beauty pageant star Ariadna Gutierrez, actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, TV personality Ross Matthews, actor James Maslow, and retired UFC fighter Chuck Liddell.
“Celebrity Big Brother” premieres Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
