Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Wedding: Engaged Couple To Marry In ‘Private’ Bahamas Beach Ceremony, Report Says
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have never been completely open about their romance, and if the recent hearsay is correct, their wedding will also be a private affair.
Depp, 50, is planning to wed Heard, 27, on his own private island in the Bahamas, according to the UK’s Daily Star.
“They’re having a small intimate ceremony barefoot on the beach in Little Hall’s Pond Cay,” an insider revealed, adding confirmation that it will be a low-key affair.
“Afterwards they'll have a barbecue where some of Johnny's musician pals are going to perform, followed by limbo dancing … Neither Johnny nor Amber want a big, glitzy Hollywood bash. They are both very private,” the source said.
Depp purchased the island in 2004 for a cool $3.6 million, Forbes reports. The 45 acre property’s six beaches -- one of which was renamed “Lily-Rose Beach,” after Depp's 14-year-old daughter -- was previously referred to by the actor as one of his favorite places. “I don’t think I ever seen any place so pure and beautiful,” Depp told Vanity Fair in 2009. “You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It’s instant freedom.”
Depp and Heard have been engaged for two months. The couple's relationship recently made headlines after rumors surfaced that Depp’s former girlfriend of 14 years, model- actress Vanessa Paradis, was upset over the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star's impending nuptials.
In spite of the alleged hard feelings between the 41-year-old French native and Depp’s new leading lady, US Weekly reported that Paradis, who is the mother of Depp’s two children, was “not bitter” over news of his engagement to the “Drive Angry" film star. “Vanessa wished him happiness … She’s happy,” a source told the magazine.
Heard first sparked rumors of a possible engagement after she was spotted sporting a diamond ring on her engagement finger while leaving a restaurant in Los Angeles with a friend in January. Following the reports, a source confirmed to People magazine that the duo of one year was officially engaged to be married. “Of course they couldn’t be happier to be engaged and excited to share the rest of their lives together,” the insider said.
A separate source later confirmed to Celebuzz that Depp proposed to Heard over the December holidays. “It happened on Christmas Eve,” the source said, adding, “Amber really took her time to make up her mind.”
