Johnny Depp Denies Split With Vanessa Paradis, Blames Media For Rumors ?There?s No Truth Anymore?
Johnny Depp denied splitting from his partner of 14 years, French actress, singer and model Vanessa Paradis.
Depp confirmed that the rumors which had been circulating for months were false.
The rumors are not true. They are absolutely not true, said the actor on the red carpet premiere of his new Tim Burton movie 'Dark Shadows,' according to the Sun.
The Sun tabloid reported that Depp was fuming and he seethed that there was 'no way' he had split from Paradis.
Depp, 48, said he was frustrated that no one believed his denial.
No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite, he said according to the Sun. I can't say enough about it not being over.
This is the first time Depp addressed the rumors since they started four months ago in January. Gossip magazines and tabloids reported the couple were basically over and were living separate lives.
It's false--this rumor could cause a lot of harm to my family and my children, he said.
There's no truth anymore. It doesn't matter what I say to you right now, it doesn't make any difference, he said according to the Daily Mirror.
Paradis did not accompany him to the premiere. People magazine noted that the couple have not appeared on a red carpet together for at least a year and a half.
In an interview with Stylist magazine (via the Sydney Morning Herald) Paradis gave her theory on the idea of soul mates.
I have a problem with the term soul mates, it scares me a lot, she told the magazine according to the Sydney Morning Herald. It's such a strong statement -- it's like a marriage contract. I believe in love, and I want to believe that it lasts forever.
But I'm like everyone else, you have to take things a day at a time and you can never know what comes next. All you can do is hope and love and live.
When you say, 'This is my soul mate,' it's almost like saying, 'Well, OK, we're done here then,' That's why I don't really like to use that term, but I understand it, she told the magazine according to the Sydney Morning Herald.
In January, Paradis was alone at the premiere of her movie 'Café de Flore.' She did not answer questions about the alleged split.
Depp was dressed in a black and white cowboy like blazer, with a striped vest, black button down and black jeans for the premiere. He wore a pair of blue-tinted sunglasses.
The couple have two children together, a daughter, Lil-Rose, and a son, John.
