Johnny Depp once gave a heartbreaking response when asked to comment on Amber Heard’s accusations that he physically, verbally, and mentally abused her during their two-year marriage.

During his interview with GQ, Depp revealed that he didn’t want to say anything negative against his ex-wife even though Heard lied about him harming and bullying her.

“To harm someone you love? As a kind of bully? No, it didn’t, it couldn’t even sound like me. So, initially, I just kept my mouth shut, you know? I knew it was going to stick on me and it would get weirder. Keep going, you know? Go nuts. I ain’t going to get into a pissing contest with someone about it. Spit out what you need to spit out and, you know, my attorneys will take care of the rest. I never went out and spoke about the [expletive],” he said.

Depp said that one of the most difficult things about Heard’s abuse allegations was how she presented him as someone who he isn’t. And at the end of the day, the actor’s biggest concern was his two kids, Lily-Rose and Jack Depp.

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s lawyers claimed that Heard accused Depp of abusing her in an attempt to seek financial support from him. In 2017, the former couple settled their divorce, and Depp was ordered to pay $7 million.

Depp admitted that he was hurt over how Heard tried to take away the money that he would’ve otherwise given to his children. The “Aquaman” star reportedly donated the entire amount to two charities.

“I’m sure it wasn’t easy for my 14-year-old boy to go to school; you know what I mean? With people going, ‘Hey, look at this magazine, man. What, your dad beats up chicks or something?’ Why did he have to go through that? Why did my daughter have to go through that?” Depp said.

Last year, Depp and Heard’s messy divorce was reignited after audio recordings of the former couple fighting were leaked. In the clips, Depp’s ex-wife could be heard admitting that she physically abused her ex-husband.
