Johnny Depp Larry King Interview Unveils the Elusive Actor
Johnny Depp, an internationally-respected actor who is beloved by women of all ages, has spoken with Larry King in an interview that will air on Sunday.
King made the announcement on Twitter.
Excited to announce my next special: an interview with Johnny Depp! Airs Sunday, 10/16 at 8pmET/5pmPT, he tweeted on Monday, along with a photo of him speaking with the actor.
King once said that Depp was high on the list of people he wanted to interview, Entertainment Weekly reported.
A preview clip shows Depp talking about how he was living in author Hunter S. Thompson's basement and doing research for the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, which was based on the Thompson's novel of the same name.
Depp came across a draft of the writer's then-unpublished novel The Rum Diary.
Depp told King that Thompson used to call him Colonel and insisted they get The Rum Diary made into a movie.
Colonel, we must produce this, Thompson said, according to Depp.
So that was the plan, Depp told King.
Depp will star this month in the novel's film adaptation of the same name.
