Johnny Depp Might Reprise Captain Jack Sparrow Role After Amber Heard’s Audio Confession Leaked

Johnny Depp might reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Depp is well-loved for his popular character Jack Sparrow in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise. However, Disney dropped him from the movie franchise in the wake of his ex-wife Amber Heard’s divorce and allegations.

Heard alleged that Depp was abusive and violent. Disney decided to distance itself from Depp by removing him from the films. However, the production might change its mind after Heard’s audio confession leaked.

In the recording Heard admitted that she started their fight and she hit him. She also taunted Depp to tell the world that he was the victim and see if many people would believe that a man like him was abused by a woman like her.

“The recent turn of events in Depp’s legal battle and the overwhelming support from the public in his favor has some of the Mouse House executives now lobbying for his return behind the scenes. And given that these are the same sources who also said last year that the studio was doing a Bambi live-action remake, we’ve no reason to doubt them,” Scott Campbell wrote for We Got This Covered.

If Depp were to return, he would play more of a supporting role similar to how he portrayed his character in “Curse of the Black Pearl” where a female pirate played the main protagonist. Also there is little interest in a “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie without Depp. Many fans are calling Disney to recast Depp.

In fact, there is already an online petition to bring back Depp as Jack Sparrow and it has received over 31,000 and counting signatures. According to Femke, who started the petition, he wanted Depp to be part of the sixth installment because he made the films “extra fun” and “I just can’t think about a pirates 6 without Johnny Depp.”

Meanwhile, many want Heard to be removed from “Aquaman.” The netizens wanted her to experience what Depp went through when Disney dropped him due to her abuse claims.

“Petition to recast Amber Heard as ‘Mera’ in ‘Aquaman’, abusers have no place in the film industry!” one wrote.
