Johnny Depp Perfect To Play Joker In ‘The Batman,’ Kevin Smith Says

Johnny Depp is perfect to play the Joker in “The Batman” movie, Kevin Smith says.

In the past weeks, there were rumors that Depp has been considered as among the candidates to play Joker in Robert Pattinson’s “Batman” movie. The speculation received positive reactions from online users who think that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is perfect for the role.

Smith also shares the same opinion. The American filmmaker agrees that Depp can pull off the popular character if the production would cast him. He also acknowledged how the character gave Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix an Oscar.

“Of all the actors out there that could possibly take a role of the dice on the Joker, Johnny Depp (is) actually kinda [explicit] perfect,” Smith said of Depp.

“You gotta admit he’d be fun man, like of all the parts he’s played, he’s kind of perfect for a take on The Joker,” he added.

Twitter users have been discussing the possibility of Depp playing the Joker in the “Batman” movie and many gave it a “Yay” because for them, Depp is best suited for the role.

“It's only a rumour but he would be perfect for the role, it's practically made for him,” @mderndarkwizard added.

“Yaaaaaaaaaayyyyy He's got that joker attitude, can be cunning, funny, and still make sense in a whole different way. He sees the world differently. These are conclusions I came to based on his movies,” @Chicruz_William added.

In related news, Depp’s legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard continues. While many want Depp to have a big comeback, several petitioned that Heard should be removed from “Aquaman.” Depp was dropped by Disney from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie after Heard alleged that he was abusive and violent and Depp's supporters want Heard to endure the same consequence.

In February, an audio recording of Heard confessing that she started their fights and that she hit Depp leaked. It changed the entire narrative of their split.

However, Heard just ignored her critics. In fact, she made a swipe at them amid the petition to recast her role in “Aquaman” by sharing a snap of her wearing the Valentino swim cap which she donned during the premiere of “Aquaman” in London in 2018.
