YouTube celebrity makeup artist James Charles recently gave JoJo Siwa a stunning makeover which made the 17-year-old look older and unrecognizable.
Siwa appeared on Charles’ YouTube channel last week.
"In today's video, I give internet sensation JoJo Siwa a FULL MAKEOVER. No bow, no glitter, no rhinestones, just a glam transformation while we talk about her rise to fame on Dance Moms, her BILLION dollar business, and dealing with being a teenager," Charles caption the YouTube video uploaded Friday.
At the beginning of the video, Siwa tells Charles, "Getting my makeup done number one is just like a 'no.' I like to do it. James, this is my dream and my nightmare at the same time."
James replies, "I'm nervous too because I want to make sure that the look is appropriate, that you like it..."
Charles then goes on to give Siwa a complete makeover, transforming her trademark rainbow look for something completely different and more sophisticated.
After seeing the finished look, Siwa says, "I will say, it's very pretty and you did a wonderful job on the hair and on the makeup. Obviously it's not me, I mean, you know how I showed up here in sparkles and bright pink and neon and rainbow, but it is really pretty and you did an incredible job."
Several people commented that Siwa looked unrecognizable and different following the makeover.
"She looks so different after. she’s so pretty to James did amazing," one person commented.
"She looks freaking stunning. Like she’s pretty and cute normally. But like wow," wrote another user.
"She looks like a different person without the ponytail," another person wrote.
However, Charles took to Twitter to reveal he was receiving "death threats" for the makeover video.
"I said today’s collab was with someone I waited two years to work with & I was so excited for and now I’m getting death threats because stan twitter assumed it would be their fav and it wasn’t. There are a TON of huge artists I’d love to film with one day, be patient!" Charles tweeted.
"I liked a few tweets from fans saying they wanted me to collab with their favs because I also would love to collab with their favs. If I DID collab with their favs, today would’ve been full of ‘stay away from her’ tweets anyway. Leave me alone," he added.
Meanwhile, the video has received over 15 million views as of Monday.
