Jon Gosselin Responds To Twin Daughters' Mady And Cara's Statement
Former reality star turned DJ Jon Gosselin is devastated his 15 -year-old twin daughters, Mady and Cara, spoke badly about him.
“I’m very upset,” Gosselin, 39, told Entertainment Tonight Online in an exclusive report Friday. “I love my children very much. I’ve always been there for them and I always will be. It’s shocking.”
The father-of-eight hasn’t seen his children for years. “Everybody used to come to my house,” he told the Entertainment Tonight Online in a previous interview. “It was great, and then Madelyn and Cara just stopped coming, around 12-13 [years old]. I didn’t question it. I was just like, ‘Hey, do what you want. Be with your friends,’ and then it just became, ‘They’re not coming.’”
Mady and Cara hit back at their father during a candid conversation with People Magazine Thursday. “He makes it seem like we’re being kept from him, which is insane,” Mady said. “He should maybe spend some time thinking about why we don’t want to see him, and maybe realize that if he ever does want a relationship with us, talking about us on TV is not the way to make that happen.” She added: “He doesn’t even know us… How can he dare to talk about us?”
He blamed his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin, for his estrangement from his son, Colin. “It felt like she was segregating me from him,” he said.
Kate, 41, told People Magazine Colin has “special needs” and is being treated outside their home. She said Jon hasn’t helped their family.
The Gosselins garnered fame with their hit TLC reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” but their marriage ended after Jon changed in an instant.
“I really would have thought he'd have been here for the long haul,” Kate told People Magazine. “The weirdest thing is that overnight he became a different person.” He began to stay out late and spend their money on cars and motorcycles.
Still, Kate was aware the type of strain having multiples put on a marriage. “I'd done the math,” she said. “I wouldn't have said you're crazy.”
