Jon Hamm On '90s Dating Show And 6 Other Celebrities On Game Shows Before They Were Famous
It’s hard to imagine the smooth-talking lady-killer Don Draper needing help to date, but long before he was famous for immortalizing the ad man, he did.
A 1996 video recently resurfaced of Jon Hamm, baby-faced at just 25 years old, participating on “The Big Date” sporting '90s-style slacks and floppy mullet hair straight out of “Dawson’s Creek.” Hamm, now 43 years old, identifies himself in the clip as a waiter and describes his perfect date:
“Well, you start off with some fabulous food and then some fabulous conversation with a fabulous foot massage for an evening of total fabulousity,” he says.
But the young Hamm was not fabulous enough to be selected as a date.
Hamm, who did not make his acting debut until 1997 when he was cast as “Gorgeous Guy at Bar” in “Ally McBeal,” was hardly the first actor to appear on a game show. Plenty of celebrities appeared on shows like “The Price Is Right” and “The Dating Game” before they were famous. And thanks to the Internet, people don’t forget.
Here are some of the best ones we unearthed, and Hamm’s clip, of course.
