“Jon & Kate Plus 8” star Jon Gosselin’s daughter, Hannah, has come to her father's defense after he was accused of physically abusing son Collin earlier this month.
Following her 16-year-old brother's allegations that he was punched and kicked by their father, Hannah, also 16, said in a statement published by Daily Mail Wednesday, Sept. 16, that Jon is not abusive and insisted that Collin's accusations were not true.
“My dad loves us. He’s never been abusive,” Hannah said, adding that her dad was “very loving and supportive.”
Hannah — who is one of Jon and ex-wife Kate's sextuplets — also said that she witnessed the incident and confirmed to investigators that her dad did not hit Collin.
However, Kate sided with son Collin in his dispute with Jon, whom she described to People as “violent” and “abusive.” The reality star said that she had been informed by Pennsylvania's Berks County Child & Youth Services of an investigation into a violent incident involving Collin that happened earlier this month.
“The police need to do their jobs. I am so sick of Jon’s abuse being disguised as everything but. I don’t want my children around him. Enough is enough,” Kate said.
Jon has been accused of “causing bodily injury to a child through recent act/failure to act: hitting/punching,” according to the CYS letter.
Earlier this month, Collin said in a now-deleted Instagram post that Jon “beat” him and “thought nothing of it.” The teen claimed that his father “punched” him in the face and “gave me a swollen nose and I started bleeding.”
“He then continued to kick me in the ribs after I was on the floor,” Collin alleged.
A People source said that the incident happened after Collin became upset while talking to his dad in the car. The teen was “furious” and was “swearing” until they reached home.
Collin allegedly went to the garage, picked up a heavy bottle of liquid and threw it at his father’s car, causing a dent on the vehicle.
“Jon got out of the car enraged, put him in a headlock, punched him square in the nose, and when Collin fell to the ground, then he kicked him in the ribs,” the insider added.
Gosselin’s rep denied the allegations in a statement to Us Weekly, saying, “Jon has never abused Collin.”
His camp also said that the teen “endured severe trauma” but that “Jon is a loving father who has worked hard to ensure that his son gets the support and help he needs.”
Jon and Kate, who divorced in 2009 after 10 years of marriage, starred in TLC's “Jon & Kate Plus 8” with their twin daughters, Cara and Madelyn, 19, and sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Joel, Leah, Hannah and Collin, 16.
