Jonah Hill Shows Off His Black Eye, Denies 'Fist Fight' With Baby Yoda [Watch]
Jonah Hill is taking the Baby Yoda joke to a whole new level by flaunting his black eye and indirectly blaming the fictional character for a fistfight.
"I’m gonna say this once and once only. This black eye is from my surfboard," the 38-year-old actor said in the video shared Wednesday on Instagram. "It is not from a fist fight I got into with Baby Yoda because of our falling out."
Hill challenged Baby Yoda to fight with him at Verzuz, which is a virtual DJ battle. "That being said I do officially challenge Baby Yoda to a @verzuztv battle," he captioned the video.
"And @disneyplus definitely did NOT pay me off to protect the fact that one of their marquee stars has a big mouth and would definitely catch hands if he didn’t sucker punch me with his little baby green fist," he added.
Celebs took to the comments section to share their reactions.
Musician Chad Muska wrote, "The baby Yoda cover up!!! The truth will surface!!! Baby Yoda don’t play that sh-t Homie!!!" while DJ Mark Ronson simply wrote, "If u need a DJ...," suggesting that he would be a good pick.
Actor Blake Anderson commented, "It’s the subtle disrespect, he has a name, it’s Grogu" while filmmaker Liz Goldwyn wrote, "I heard u dropped in on baby Yoda & got into a scrap." Michael B. Jordan simply dropped laughing emojis.
Hill and Baby Yoda's joke began when the actor slammed an outlet last week for writing a headline suggesting that he has a feud with a "Star Wars" fictional character named Grogu, who is popularly known as Baby Yoda.
The "Don't Look Up" actor shared a screenshot of the headline and featured image that had his and Baby Yoda's closeup.
"Baby Yoda and I are dear friends and text at least once a week," Hill captioned the post at that time. "We may not be text every day type of friends and yes Covid put a strain on our friendship , but we are all good. And that’s all I will say on this matter ! Now please respect our privacy at this time."
On the work front, Hill was recently featured in the Netflix movie, "Don't Look Up," which was dropped on Dec. 5, 2021. The actor will be next seen in an untitled Kenya Barris' comedy which is slated to release this year.
