'Jonas Brothers Family Roast': Sophie Turner Takes A Dig At Her Husband's Purity Ring [Watch]
Netflix dropped a hilarious teaser of "Jonas Brothers Family Roast" on Tuesday showing Sophie Turner taking a dig at her husband Joe Jonas and his brothers, Nick and Kevin, for wearing a purity ring before marriage.
In the 56 second video, the "Game of Thrones" star began the roast by explaining the reason behind wearing a purity ring. "Let's talk about the purity rings," Turner said as Joe flaunted a ring in his hand.
"For those of you who don't know purity rings are worn to demonstrate that you're abstaining from sex before marriage and the Jonas Brothers, they all had them," the actress noted.
"No, the rings weren't a good idea," the 25-year-old actress further said. "Yes, as a gesture they're laughably, toe-curlingly lame," she added. "But remember, this was about more than a gesture. This was about faith. This was about principle. This was about taking a stand and setting an example."
"Look, Joe wasn't just sticking his fingers in some dumb metal rings. He was sticking his fingers in co-stars, actresses, and even a supermodel or two," she said about her husband.
The camera cuts to Nick's wife, actress Priyanka Chopra and Kevin's wife, reality TV star Danielle Jonas, who could be seen laughing and enjoying Turner's comments.
Fans praised Turner for roasting Jonas Brothers, especially her husband. Some of them compared the roast to the "Comedy Central Roast" show.
Nick had earlier admitted that purity rings were not really a good idea as they became a "defining factor" for the boy band.
"It was incredibly annoying," Nick told Harpers Bazaar in 2019. "And then it became a defining factor of who we were as a band, which was disappointing. I was just trying to navigate love, and romance, and what sex even meant to me, at a sensitive age."
"Jonas Brothers Family Roast" was released on Netflix on Tuesday.
Besides the Netflix special, Nick will be seen in the musical drama "Jersey Boys LIVE," which is helmed by director Des McAnuff.
Joe will appear in the action-packed war movie "Devotion," which is directed by J. D. Dillard. As for Kevin, he was last featured in a music video, titled "Who's in Your Head," which came out on Sept. 30.
