Jordyn Woods And Karl Anthony Towns Reveal How Their Friendship Turned Into Romance

Jordyn Woods and Karl Anthony Towns have revealed new details about their relationship in an Instagram video.

On Friday, the 23-year-old model took to social media to share a video in which she talked about how her friendship with Towns took a romantic turn.

“Two years before, I’m like, ‘No, that’s like a brother to me,’” she recalled. “That sounds disgusting now, I know,” she added, as her boyfriend laughed and noted how that “sounds crazy.”

“Literally, there was never a kiss or anything. I was just best friends [with her]. We had such mutual respect for each other,” said Towns.

Towns explained he and Woods had met through mutual friends, and since then, their relationship had grown until they became more than friends.

“Me and Jordyn met years ago knowing common people and just became friends,” he said. “And ever since then, our relationship grew where we became more than friends. I’m not saying in that way, but just best friends.”

Towns said they started to have a deeper relationship during the pandemic, when he lost his mother, Jacqueline, and seven other family members to COVID-19. He said Woods was there for him during the difficult time, and that’s when their relationship had taken a romantic turn.

“It just so happened, the COVID came and kind of brought its challenges and it kind of forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more,” said the NBA star. “And we chose the latter.”

Woods and Towns made their relationship Instagram official in September 2020, when the latter joined his best friend-turned-girlfriend's family vacation to celebrate her 23rd birthday.

Woods revealed in the video she couldn’t be happier about how their relationship had turned out. “I think it’s kind of cool dating your best friend. We know each other. We know each other’s hearts. We know each other on good days and bad days and we’ve been through a lot of bad days together,” she said.

The couple also disclosed the trials and tribulations in their relationship. “There’s going to be times where we’re extremely mad at each other but we have to choose if we’re going to put our love for each other first or we’re going to put our egos first,” said Towns.
