Josh Trank Says Matthew Vaughn Did Not Direct Reshoots Of 'Fantastic Four' Starring Miles Teller

Director Josh Trank says English film producer and director Matthew Vaughn did not direct the reshoot of “Fantastic Four.” Trank took to Twitter to clear the rumors and revealed that Vaughn was never involved.
@Josh_Wilding Hey Josh, not true. While MV has been very supportive, he's never been to our set. There's only been 1 director of FF2015. Me.

@SuperheroNewsCB Definitely not true. I haven't even met MV in person, and there were no such test screenings.

“Fantastic Four” has been plagued by controversies since the beginning. During the shoot, rumors circulated that the studio is not happy with the way film has turned out and reshoots are being done to save the film. A source had revealed to Bleeding Cool that the film is “a mess" and the sets are being rebuilt in Louisiana for a reshoot. However, there is no confirmation to these rumors, and from Trank’s tweet it is clear he was the only director on the film.
“Fantastic Four” tells the story of four young people who teleport to an alternate universe where their physical form changes. They must learn to harness their powers to save Earth from a former friend turned foe. The film's screenplay is by Simon Kinberg, Jeremy Slater and Trank. It stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Reg E. Cathey and Tim Blake Nelson.
