In a grisly attack, Che Ambe, 21, decimated the hand of Steven Tyler, 18, after chasing him down on a moped. This attack had left the teen in cold sweat as he feared for his life. The teen was rushed to hospital but the doctors could not attach his hand back in place again.

Judge Michael Kay blamed the parents for raising Ambe in anger and called it “Story of our times” before sentencing him to 15 years of life imprisonment.

“It is not society that is at fault. It is your parents and family – the way you have been brought up and accustomed to as a young man, which is chaos and violence; you have been involved in a world of violence. Your violence is escalating. You post a high risk of harm to others and the risk of further offences is imminent. It is because you know of no other world,” The Sun quoted Judge Kay as saying.

The incident happened in Abbots Langley, Herts, on the previous night of February 10. St Albans Crown Court lent an ear to Tyler’s story who was walking back home accompanied by a friend from the shops when Ambe chased him riding on his moped.

Hertfordshire Constabulary's spokesperson revealed to The Sun- “three men knew each other but didn’t get on.”

"Subsequently, the victim and his friend ran away but Ambe came off his bike and chased them, armed with a bladed article," they added.

"The victim fell as he tried to run away and Ambe caught up with him and cut his hand off. The victim’s friend managed to run back home and, after Ambe fled the scene, the victim was also able to run to the home for safety."

The Police were called immediately after the incident who, upon inspecting the scene, found the severed hand of the victim. Officers seized Ambe shortly after searching the area and locating him.

The verdict came on 4th September sentencing Ambe of Watford, Hertfordshire life imprisonment for causing extreme bodily hurt.

According to Detective Constable Steve Mason, "I hope that Ambe spends his time behind bars reflecting on the pain and misery he has inflicted on the victim.

"This was a vicious incident which highlights the dangers of carrying knives. Hertfordshire Constabulary is committed to tackling knife crime so I hope this case provides reassurance to the public that we will do all we can to bring knife crime offenders to justice."
