'Jujutsu Kaisen' Chapter 148 Delayed; New Release Date Announced [Spoilers]

Panda and Masamichi Yaga's origin story is likely getting one more chapter. Fans will also learn more about Panda and Yaga's relationship. However, "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 148 is postponed as the manga takes a two-week break.

"Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 148 is now scheduled to release on May 16, Manga Plus confirmed. The new chapter is expected to delve deeper into Panda and Yaga's past.

"Father and child. That bond exists in those tears," the preview for "Jujutsu Kaisen" Chapter 148 read as per Ducky's tweet.

The previous chapter opens with a flashback. Yaga sits inside a prison cell with his hands wrapped with a magical talisman. Yoshinobu Gakuganji asks Yaga about how he made Panda.

Gakuganji notes that an artificial cursed corpse can operate independently using the cursed energy provided by a sorcerer. However, Panda is different as it can generate cursed energy by itself.

Gakuganji informs Yaga that the higher-ups are in the process of designating him as a special grade and imposing restrain upon him. He adds that the higher-ups fear that Yaga can create several Panda-like cursed corpses and make an army.

The flashback ends and in the present, Yaga is seen in the woods next to a cursed corpse named Takeru. He tells Takeru and the other cursed corpses that he will be away for a long time.

The scene changes to Atsuya Kusakabe cutting the rope restraining Panda who then asks the former if he is sure about freeing him.

Kusakabe tells Panda to keep this a secret as he is doing it for Yaga. Later in the chapter, a mysterious man confronts Yaga and asks him about how he makes cursed corpses like Panda.

Yaga refuses to share any secrets. Later, Gakuganji appears with his guitar.

The scene changes to Yaga slouching on a fence and he appears wounded. Gakuganji asks the unnamed man to go away as he interrogates Yaga.

Meanwhile, Yaga reveals everything he knows about creating the special cursed corpse. Gakuganji is shocked and he asks Yaga why is he telling him now.

Yaga reveals that it is a curse from him to Gakuganji and at that time, Panda appears. Gakuganji believes Panda will attack him but it passes through him to check on its creator, Yaga.
