  • Julius Randle's Instagram activity sends out feelers he may be leaving the Knicks
  • Randle recently reiterated his desire to stay with the Knicks
  • The Knicks have yet to decide on what to do with Randle

Julius Randle’s future is up in the air, and the immediate question that comes to mind is if the 2021 NBA Most Improved Player will still be around for the New York Knicks next season.

After apparently failing after a breakout NBA season, pundits see the 27-year-old likely exiting this summer.

If his recent Instagram activity is to be factored in, it appears a divorce between the two sides is imminent.

Knicks and NBA fans have been keeping tabs on the social media activity of players, and Randle is one most are closely monitoring.

One Knicks enthusiast, @MoeKnicksTakes, noticed a development with the No. 7 overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft unfollowing every Knicks player.

Aside from that, the 6-foot-8 cager also deleted most of the pictures associated with the New York Knicks, except for one with RJ Barrett for SLAM magazine as tweeted by @NBA_NewYork.

Randle’s activities on social media could be a sign of things to come. However, it should be noted that after a look at his bio still includes him being a member of the Knicks.

The Kentucky standout signed a four-year, $170 million contract extension with the Knicks last season, but this has not gone into effect just yet.

Trade suggestions have been put up although Randle scorned all this last week and said that he is not requesting a trade.

"It's just not true at all. If it ain't coming from me, it ain't true," Randle said when he was asked about rumors alleging that he was seeking a trade.

Moreover, Randle emphasized on more than one occasion that he wants to remain with the Knicks on a long-term basis.

But unlike last season, his 2021-22 NBA season performance has raised questions on that viability.

After averaging 24.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and six assists in 37.6 minutes of action during the 2020-21 season, Randle saw his production take a dip.

This NBA season, the cager normed 20.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 35.3 minutes of action.

The numbers of Randle would be ideal for any team in need of a talented player. But considering he is coming off a big season, his inability to at least maintain or do better has now raised questions if he is worth the huge investment of the Knicks.
