Chris Pratt has revealed that a five-minute extended preview for the sci-fi action movie "Jurassic World: Dominion" will be shown during "Fast & Furious 9" screenings at IMAX theaters. The ninth chapter of the "Fast & Furious" saga will release on June 25.
The actor shared a new poster of the movie on Instagram on Wednesday. It had the image of a mosquito extracting blood from a T-Rex. "We've got a 5-minute prologue to Dominion that is going to play in IMAX theaters in front of Fast9 starting June 25," the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star wrote. "It'll be in over 40 countries. Hold on to your butts."
The preview will be shown in a "1:90:1 Imax aspect ratio" and it includes the movie's narrative.
The movie is helmed by Colin Trevorrow and penned by Derek Connolly along with Trevorrow. Besides Pratt, the highly-anticipated movie also stars Sam Neill, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern in key roles.
"It begins the story that we're telling in Dominion," Trevorrow told EW on Wednesday regarding the preview footage. "It's a bit of a self-indulgent thing for the child in me because I always wanted to see dinosaurs as they were in the Cretaceous period."
Last month, Pratt provided his fans a peek at the sets of the movie. The actor posted a photo of it online and revealed that the entire movie was shot during the pandemic.
"Jurassic World: Dominion" was originally slated to release this month, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the studio delayed it to June next year.
"Fast & Furious 9" includes Vin Diesel, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson in key roles. "F9" was scheduled for a 2019 release but it was changed due to various reasons, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pratt will be next seen in "The Tomorrow War," which is slated to release on July 23. The movie is directed by Chris McKay. Next year, the actor will be seen teaming up with Chris Hemsworth in "Thor: Love and Thunder," which will hit the theaters in February next year.
