'Just Use Protection': Wife Of Russian Soldier Overheard Telling Husband To Rape Ukrainian Women
An alleged intercepted phone call in which a Russian wife tells her soldier husband to rape Ukrainian women has been posted online by Ukrainian Security Services (SBU).
The 30-second audio clip of the conversation between the unidentified woman and her husband was posted on a Telegram group by SBU, claiming the Russian troops rape Ukrainian locals with support from their families.
"You go there and rape Ukrainian women, just don't tell me anything. You got me? The main thing is to use protection," the woman reportedly said during the conversation, the post on the Telegram group read, Google translate showed, as reported by Ukrinform.
"It is noted that the intercepted call reflects the moral values not only of the invaders but also of their families, 80 percent of whom now support the invasion of Ukraine," the agency added.
According to the audio shared in the Telegram group, the woman could be reportedly heard saying "So yeah, do it over there," to her partner. The conversation, which comes later, makes it clear that she was permitting her husband to rape women in Ukraine. "Ukrainian women there. Rape them. Yeah," the woman said adding, "Don’t tell me anything, understand," Latest News Media reported.
When the voice on the other end clarified "So I should rape and not tell you anything," the woman replied: "Yes so that I wouldn’t know anything."
"Yeah, I allow you. Just use protection," the woman added with a giggle.
The audio was released after the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of committing hundreds of rapes in areas previously occupied by their troops. "Hundreds of cases of rape have been recorded, including those of young girls and very young children. Even of a baby!" Zelensky said Tuesday.
According to a recent report, at least 25 females were kept in a basement of a house in the Ukrainian town of Bucha where they were "systematically raped" by Russian soldiers. The victims aged between 14 and 24 were sexually assaulted to the point where they would not want sexual contact with any man, to prevent them from having Ukrainian children, Lyudmyla Denisova, Ukraine’s ombudsman for human rights, said.
