The mother of a missing two-year-old Florida boy was arrested and charged for killing the toddler, authorities said Tuesday. Jordan Belliveau's body was found earlier that day in a wooded area in Largo.

Belliveau's 21-year-old mother, Charisse Stinson, had told police she was attacked by a mystery man when she was walking home with her son Saturday night. The attacker, called "Antwan," allegedly knocked Stinson unconscious. The mother claimed she woke up four hours after the incident and found herself in the woods without her son.

FOX 13 Tampa Bay reported that the young boy's uncle and other family members suspected Stinson was responsible for the boy's disappearance.

Police are yet to release an official cause of death and the Amber Alert issued Saturday was also canceled. Police had earlier released a composite sketch of "Antwan," as well as surveillance video of a man they described as a "possible witness" who may have spoken to Jordan's mother.

The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks and gold teeth. He was believed to be in his mid-20s. The man with brown hair and brown eyes was reportedly wearing a white tank top and black basketball shorts.

The alert said the toddler was wearing blue gym shorts, a blue shirt with the number 72 on the front, black socks and black and white Nike sneakers, at the time of his disappearance.

“Devastation, complete devastation,” Jessica Belliveau, Jordan’s grandmother, told WFTS-TV as she and her family searched for the little boy. “Our family’s hurting and we want him back.”

Police told ABC Action News they found children’s items covered in blood inside the woman's apartment. On Monday, they seized the items into evidence but said they’re not sure if they are connected to Jordan’s case. On Tuesday, Major Stephen Slaughter said the investigators had learned Jordan had suffered a cut that required stitches.
