Justin Bieber has not attempted to "run into" ex Selena Gomez in Los Angeles, contrary to a recent tabloid report.

A new Radar Online article recently claimed that Bieber is "desperate" to see Gomez, whom he dated on and off for five years, and has even tried orchestrating a "run-in" with the singer-actress.

The report pointed out that Gomez was spotted at Runyon Canyon in Los Angeles on Jan. 4, just one day after her ex went on a hike at the three-mile mountainous trail in Hollywood. This was reportedly not a coincidence as Bieber was hoping to see Gomez. The tabloid further claimed that Gomez had been "taunting" Bieber when she went to Runyon Canyon the day after he was seen there.

Gossip Cop, however, has confirmed that Radar Online's claims are completely baseless. The rumor-debunking site pointed out that one of the main reasons why there is likely no connection at all between Bieber and Gomez hiking in the same area is that Runyon Canyon is a "hotspot" for celebrities. Bieber has, in fact, gone hiking at Runyon Canyon for years, regardless of whether or not he was dating Gomez.

The Hollywood Reporter published a story years ago revealing that when hiking at Runyon Canyon, it would not be a surprise to meet a celebrity or two. Several celebrities go there regularly, including Amanda Seyfried, Channing Tatum, Natalie Portman and of course, Bieber.

In 2015, Bieber was spotted hiking up the trail with Kendall Jenner, just a day before he met up for lunch with now-wife Hailey Baldwin, according to Just Jared. Bieber has also been known to go there with family and friends, often without his shirt on.

Needless to say, there is no basis for Radar Online's story regarding Bieber attempting to have a "run-in" with Gomez at Runyon Canyon.

But this wouldn't be the first time that Radar Online has released false stories about Bieber. Last year, the tabloid also claimed that Bieber only asked Baldwin to marry him in order to get revenge on Gomez for dating Caleb Stevens.

At the time, Gossip confirmed from a pal of Bieber's that the story is "nonsense." The site also pointed out that Gomez was never in a relationship with Stevens.
