Justin Bieber Prays For Victims Of Buffalo Shooting Incident [Watch]
Justin Bieber addressed the tragedy that took place at Buffalo, where 10 people were reportedly killed and three were left wounded.
The 28-year-old singer performed at Buffalo’s KeyBank Center over the weekend, few hours after the incident took place on the same day. Bieber took to Instagram on Sunday to share a one-minute video featuring him and crew members performing a prayer ahead of the show.
"You guys probably heard what happened, pretty horrible stuff. Bieber said in the video. "But I’m looking forward to tonight, looking forward to getting on stage and doing what we do best, having a good time and bringing joy to the city, much needed."
"PRAYING WITH AND FOR BUFFALO," the singer captioned the video.
In a separate post, Bieber addressed the incident on stage before he began performing "Hurt" music track.
"There’s been tragedy in the city, but what we’re gonna do tonight, is gonna honor those people," he said. "As we know, there’s so much division in this world. So much racial injustice. As you and I both know, racism is evil and it is diabolical."
The singer further shared that he and the audience are “difference makers” and should continue to be “allies.”
"But what you and I get to do, we get to be the difference makers," he added. "We get to be the people who continue to have the conversations with our friends and our family and our loved ones. We continue to be allies."
"RACISM WILL NOT PREVAIL GOD DOES," he captioned the post. "WE STAND WITH YOU BUFFALO AND STAND AGAINST THIS RACIST ACT OF TERROR."
In the comments section, the singer was appreciated for addressing this incident.
Musician Frankly Austyn commented "AMEN" while a fan wrote, "THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS UP. WE LOVE YOU AND THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT."
Payton Gendron, 18, has been accused of storming the Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo located in the state of New York, on Saturday afternoon. According to the reports, police commissioner Joseph Gramaglia disclosed 11 victims were Black and two victims were White.
Erie County Sheriff John Garcia said, "It was a straight up racially motivated hate crime."
