Pop sensations Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may soon be heading down the aisle, The Chicago Sun-Times suggested.

The superstar couple apparently caused quite a commotion, after they were spotted eyeing jewelry in several stores. According to the publication, the pair was particularly looking at diamond rings.

This isn't the first time that the teen idols have been swamped by reports of an impending marriage. Bieber, 18, had previously squashed down recent engagement rumors in March, saying that he and Gomez, 19, were too young to get married. However, Chicago Sun-Times quoted several sources close to the couple who believed an engagement is in the very near future, the report said.

Reports that the twosome may be tying the knot generated several mixed reactions on Twitter. Some fans were seemingly crushed by the news. One appeared to warn Bieber saying, Don't do it. Few fans on the other hand cheered the potential engagement.

Celebs Gather suggested that the reports could be false and that the pair were likely on just any other regular shopping expedition.
