In what might be the best news ever for the fantasies of teen fangirls everywhere, pop sensation Justin Bieber and actress-singer Selena Gomez are apparently in Splitsville after two years.

The split between Bieber and Gomez happened just over a week ago, reportedly because of “trust issues,” according to multiple sources cited by Us Weekly,

"Selena broke up with Justin about a week ago. It's been a really challenging experience over the last year because of their crazy schedules," one source told Us Weekly. "Selena definitely had some major trust issues with Justin."

However, the split between Gomez and Bieber may be more temporary than permanent, according to the unnamed source. After all, young couples are known to break up and get back together fairly often.

"They are [young] ... it changes from day to day. Right now, it is a break and tomorrow it could be back on knowing them ... it's hard to say how they will end up," the source said. "Maybe she feels more serious about it this time. We'll see."

The couple first began dating in late 2010, or, as Us Weekly so romantically described their first date, “Bieber and Gomez first sparked rumors they were an item during a ‘cuddly’ November 2010 IHOP date, though they denied the romance chatter until the following spring.”

Because Bieber has a notoriously devoted fan base, the Beliebers -- many of them young girls who want "Justin" to be all theirs -- Gomez has been subject to more than a small amount of online hate due to their relationship, especially when they first began dating.

The Bieber/Gomez split comes at a time when Bieber has been reportedly spending a large amount of time with the young Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin.

However, Palvin denied there is anything romantic going on between the Biebs and herself. On Friday, she tweeted: “[H]ey everyone. please calm down. he is all yours!! :) please :)”
