Canadian singer-songwriter Justin Bieber, who was involved in a car collision outside a church in Beverly Hills Wednesday night, has a history of ramming his cars into photographers' vehicles.

On a few occasions, he got involved in accidents because of the paparazzi chasing him as well.

The photographer Bieber hit Wednesday was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Beverly Hills Police Department said. A source told People magazine the "Despacito" singer was actually trying to avoid photographers outside the church but accidentally hit one of them.

Bieber, however, did not flee the scene and even stopped when the other photographers pointed out that he had hit one of them. The singer stayed at the scene for about 8 to 10 minutes till the paramedics and police arrived.

Bieber have been involved in accidents in the past in which photographers were injured.

In July 2012, Bieber was given a speeding ticket for driving over 80 miles per hour (mph) in a 65 mph zone while trying to get away from a chasing photographer, reports said. Although, the photographer initially got away, police later identified him through his license plate.

Los Angeles City Council member Dennis Zine reported the chase, and said despite the problems the paparazzi sometimes caused to celebrities, unsafe driving should not be permitted.

In June 2013, when Bieber was leaving the Laugh Factory comedy club in Los Angeles before midnight with a friend, one of the photographers got trapped between the celebrity's car and another vehicle. At the time, Bieber's vehicle was surrounded by the paparazzi, reports said.

The photographer was rushed to hospital for treatment for his injuries. The incident was caught on tape and was viewed by CBS2 that said the footage showed Bieber behind the wheels of his Ferrari, surrounded by photographers, as he tried to leave the scene. The singer signaled the photographers to move from his way so that he could leave and in the process trapped the photographer between the cars.

He reportedly left the scene.

In August 2014, Bieber had another run-in with the paparazzi in which his Ferrari car was rear-ended by a photographer's car, reports said. The singer took to Twitter and compared the incident with the car crash that killed Princess Diana in 1997, asking the paparazzi to learn from her death.

Though no one was injured and there were only minor scratches on the cars, the singer did not take the incident lightly. This incident took place amid the singer's legal battles with the paparazzi. A week before the accident, a lawsuit had been filed that claimed Bieber and his bodyguard had assaulted a photographer.
