Justin Timberlake Confirms Third Album: Will He Collaborate With Beyoncé And Jay-Z?
Justin Timberlake confirmed on Thursday that he is getting ready to release a new album, and it may be as early as this year.
In a new video posted on his official website, Timberlake addresses why he has only put out two solo albums in the last 10 years -- "Justified" in 2002, which won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, and "FutureSex/LoveSounds" in 2006. That album received several Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
He has said that he is not in a rush to come out with music if it not his best possible work.
"I don't want to put anything out that I feel like is something I don't love. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it," Timberlake says in the clip.
On Wednesday, Timberlake excited his fans when he tweeted, “Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 9:01 am PST … ” At that time, he posted the aforementioned video, along with the caption, “To whom it may concern … I think I’M READY! #JT2013.”
According to Billboard, Timberlake’s album will be produced by Timbaland, with whom he has collaborated in the past on other projects, including "FutureSex/LoveSounds."
There have been rumors that Timberlake will be working with Beyoncé and Jay-Z as well.
Last month, a source told PerezHilton that when Beyoncé was in a recording studio in New York with her husband, Timberlake was there as well.
This will not be the first time Timberlake and Beyoncé collaborate together. In 2007, the pop stars worked together on the single "Until the End of Time," which was featured on "FutureSex/LoveSounds."
This new music will be the first since the birth of her baby girl, Blue Ivy, and her last studio album, "4," which was released last year.
"She's got her stuff going. She took the summer to start recording, and now she's in a place where she's ready to start gearing up to reveal her plan. She's already gearing up to get ready to put stuff out,” the Dream, the music producer with whom she has worked, said in a statement.
