South Korean boy band BTS revealed their reasons behind making "Dynamite,” their first all-English single in a recent interview.

With the release date for the "Dynamite" music video right around the corner, BTS held an interview with USA TODAY. During the interview, the members revealed their reasons for deciding to make a full English single and also talked about the challenges they incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though BTS has previously released songs with English lyrics, the band’s upcoming single "Dynamite" is the first song to be performed entirely in English.

According to USA TODAY, the members mentioned that the most difficult part of making "Dynamite" was learning to sing in English and getting the pronunciations right while stepping out of their comfort zone of singing in Korean.

"It was more interesting than hard. It was an interesting kind of challenge" said Jungkook while RM mentioned that it was a "fun hard" challenge.

Back in 2019, BTS had told Entertainment Weekly that they did not want to sing in English as that might change their "identity" or "genuineness," which they did not want. However, at the time, they did not foresee the global pandemic.

Talking about the coronavirus pandemic that has affected the world, BTS said that all of their concerts have been canceled. The members also wanted to let their fans know that they’re not alone in these difficult times.

"This is a situation that everybody else around the world is facing, so we just started to explore what can we do right now," said Suga while explaining why they decided to make an English song during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Who would have thought about this pandemic? No meetings, no karaokes, or concerts. We can't walk around the park even. So we never thought to fully sing this song in English. The thought just came to us during the process of making our album," RM said while adding that making "Dynamite" was "like destiny."

"I was thinking about what will lift me up when we're in this unavoidable situation. I concluded that music and dancing always lift me up so I've been trying to listen to music, write music, and dance," said J-Hope.

"I think it's a time for us to really bring ourselves together, pull our strings together and sort of encourage everyone and overcome these difficulties together," Jimin added.

Meanwhile, Jin mentioned that he’s using this opportunity to do the things that he previously couldn’t.

"It was a chance for me to sort of bring on new challenges for myself and try new things and that's how I sort of try to cope," he said.

While talking about whether "Dynamite" would be their last English song, V mentioned that they do not have any plans to release another English song as of yet.

"Dynamite" will be out at midnight EST Friday (1 p.m. KST) on Aug. 21.
