The management agency of K-pop superstars Seventeen has asked the group's fans to abide by an etiquette guide to protect the safety of its members during promotional activities or in their private time.

As the popularity of K-pop continues to soar globally, more South Korean musicians are embarking on world tours and overseas concerts. Fans would often line up in airports to greet their K-pop idols but some of them would try to go past security to get close to the artists which often ends in chaos.

Stray Kids was mobbed and its members were hurt in Incheon airport in South Korea twice this year after coming back from an overseas engagement. To avoid similar incidents, the group's management agency, Pledis Entertainment released an Etiquette guide for the fans.

"Seventeen leaves and enters Korea and other countries, there have been repeated activities threatening artists' safety, such as excessive physical contact and taking photographs or videos up close or using the same flight with the artist," Pledis Entertainment said.

Here are some of the rules set by the agency:

1. Do not visit unofficial engagement venues or private spaces including company offices, practice studios and living spaces.

2. Do not board the same flight as the artists during any part of their domestic or international activities including tours and personal traveling.

3. Do not send or leave gifts or letters at the artists' homes.

4. Do not stalk the artists.

5. Do not attempt to contact, visit, follow, talk to or make physical contact with the artists or their family members, friends and acquaintances.

6. Do not sell or purchase the artists' personal information.

7. Do not take photographs or record video or audio except where permitted.

8. Do not covertly photograph or record videos or audio of the artists in their private spaces.

9. Do not photograph or take video or audio, or broadcast (live stream) video or audio where such activities are prohibited.

10. Do not try to hand over gifts to the artist.

Violators of the Fan Etiquette Guide will face sanctions such as losing their membership and other privileges of the Seventeen global fan club. Furthermore, they will be banned from attending any Seventeen activity. Those who commit serious offenses may also face civil and criminal penalties, the agency said.
