Kailyn Lowry's Ex Javi Marroquin Hoping For Reconciliation In 'Marriage Boot Camp'
Javi Marroquin still wants Kailyn Lowry back.
The "Teen Mom" stars are set to appear on WEtv's "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars." On Friday, Marroquin admitted that he had hoped the reality show would help him reconcile Lowry. "I did, in my heart, kind of hope this bootcamp would make her fall in love with me," Marroquin told Us Weekly. "So I still held on."
During the premiere episode of "Marriage Boot Camp," the two stars argued about Lowry's alleged cheating scandal. "I'm in the military, so I deploy. Then I found out she was sleeping with somebody else," Marroquin said.
"I don't believe it's cheating if you're separated," Lowry responded.
The dad-of-one then said that for him, what she did was cheating because he was not aware that they were separated. "Javi, you lied and said that you filed for divorce and you didn't, so when I went and filed, you got served before you left," the mom-of-three shot back.
Lowry previously shot down reports that she cheated on Marroquin and claimed that the show only edited them in such a way to boost ratings. "Okay, I'm just going to say it because I already started. There's like a whole misconception that I cheated on Javi while he was deployed, which is super frustrating because that's not the case," Lowry told E! News. "It just makes for good TV, drama and ratings. I'm just biting the bullet every time but it isn't true."
"We've always kind of talked about things behind closed doors when the cameras aren't rolling and we've been on the same page about it so I don't know," the "Hustle and Heart" author added. "Like I said, it makes for good drama. It makes for good ratings."
In a separate interview with Lowry, she confessed that she couldn't see herself co-parenting with Marroquin because he has a different personality. "I don't necessarily think it's a trust thing — this is who he is. There's a side to Javi that nobody knows, that nobody sees except for me. I can't really explain it. It's the way his brain works, I guess," Lowry explained.
While it did not help them reignite their romance, "Marriage Boot Camp" has somehow helped the former couple be more civil to each other. In fact, on Saturday, Marroquin shared a photo of himself kissing Lowry on Instagram. "Despite everything that happened between us I'm happy we are at a place where we can go to events.have a good time and be civil. We’re doing a pretty good job raising these kids @kaillowry #oneteam," he wrote in the caption.
