Kaitlynn Carter Reveals Who Spoiled Baby News To Ex Brody Jenner

Kaitlynn Carter has revealed why she was not the first to tell Brody Jenner about her pregnancy. During an interview on Dear Media’s “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast,” Carter opened up about how events unfolded and why she was unable to break the news to her ex-husband.

Carter welcomed her first child with her boyfriend Kristopher Brock earlier this month. During the podcast, she said she wished she could have been the first to tell Jenner about the baby.

Carter explained that while she was filming “The Hills,” the only person who knew about her pregnancy was their showrunner. “I actually hadn’t told anyone that I was pregnant. I was probably only seven weeks,” she said. “So I told the showrunner and somehow Spencer Pratt got the word, so hadn’t told my parents, and he went and told Brody the next day,” she added.

She recounted how she got a call from Jenner the next day, asking her what the news was all about. "'What’s this news that you have that you’re not telling me? What’s the secret? There’s something going on.' And of course, I wasn’t going to lie to him, you know? I just think that would be a s***ty thing to do,” the actress said.

She explained that she had always planned to tell Jenner about the baby, but Pratt beat her to it. Pratt told Jenner the day after he had heard the news from the showrunner and spoiled Carter's planned announcement.

“It’s not like he was devastated, but I still felt like I owed it to him to just tell him. So at that point, even though it was really upsetting that I didn’t get to share the news on my own, he actually found out really early,” she explained.

On the July 28 episode of MTV’s “The Hills: New Beginnings,” Jenner said it was “hurtful” to see other people know about Carter’s pregnancy and not him. He said a baby was a huge part of their relationship, and while he didn’t expect to be the first one to know about her pregnancy he said he “should be in the top 10.”

Carter and Jenner got engaged in 2016 and tied the knot in 2018 in Indonesia. They announced their split in August 2019.
