Kaley Cuoco Posts Instagram Picture Cuddling Rescue Dog Ruby While Boyfriend Karl Cook Is Away
“Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco loves her pups. She took to Instagram Monday to share a picture cuddling her rescue dog, Ruby. Her boyfriend, Karl Cook, was apparently away for the night.
Cuoco posts under her official account “Norman Cook,” which is named after one of her dogs. The 31-year-old star advised her 3.2 million followers to rescue dogs instead of buying them. “Just me and my girl tonight #rubes #adoptdontshop #rescue this little love brings me endless joy,” she wrote. The picture was liked more than 126,000 times and garnered hundreds of comments.

Cuoco rescued Ruby more than 2 years ago. “This little one starred in our [E! News] segment and I couldn’t get her off my mind,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “So I went back and got her. Welcome to the family Miss Ruby! Thank you West Valley Animal Shelter for keeping her safe!”
She added Ruby was not a puppy when she was rescued, saying there is nothing wrong with adopting adult dogs. “Many of you have asked about Ruby’s story so here’s what we know,” she started. “She is not a puppy! She is around 5 or 6 years old. [She] had puppies, then was left on the side of the road. West Hills Animal Shelter has had her for the last little while… until I showed up!”
“We all love puppies! Especially me! But if you can, rescue a slightly older dog. They get the short end of the stick and end up living out their older days in shelters,” she said. “Ruby is a dream. Calm, quiet and sweeter than candy. We [love] her forever.”
At the time, Cuoco was married to then-husband Ryan Sweeting. She filed for divorce September 2015 after 21 months of marriage. Sweeting secretly struggled with a reported drug problem. Their divorce was finalized May 2016.
She hooked up with Cook, an equestrian, last year. They both share a love for horses and dogs and regularly make appearances on each other’s Instagram accounts.
“I'm so happy. I can't stop smiling. Life is so, so good,” Cuoco said on The Talk in March 2016. “I finally found my horse guy. I know, it was meant to be. He's an amazing, amazing rider and jumper. Amazing equestrian, and a great human.”
“We shared, obviously, our passion for horses and dogs and all that. It's been lovely. I'm so happy,” she added. “I'm just glad I got through [my split] and I couldn't be happier.”
