Kamala Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff just made her debut at Paris Fashion Week.
The second daughter walked the runway for Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2021/2022 collection Wednesday, E! News reported. The 22-year-old model shared snaps and a clip from the event on Instagram.
"Balenciaga couture," she wrote in the caption. "Thank you/congrats to @demnagvasalia and the whole balenciaga team truly amazing."
The first photo featured Emhoff modeling an oversized black blazer and extra-oversized black coat with her hair styled in a sleek updo. She also wore her signature glasses.
In the next slide, Emhoff shared a clip of her walking on the Balenciaga runway. The third snap featured her footwear that was kept hidden when she was walking at the event.
Emhoff captured the internet's attention when she arrived at President Joe Biden's inauguration wearing a chic outfit by Miu Miu and Batsheva. Her eye-catching look prompted IMG Models, the agency that represents supermodels like Karlie Kloss and Gisele Bündchen, to offer her a modeling contract.
Emhoff's modeling contract sparked comparison with former first lady Melania Trump who never received the same offer but deserved one according to her supporters.
"So Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter just got a modeling contract but not once was our former First Lady, Melania Trump, recognized by the fashion industry or asked to grace the cover of Vogue. Even fashion is rigged against us," one person wrote.
"And to think Melania Trump wasn’t on a single fashion magazine cover. Once again, the left distorts truth and beauty," another user stated.
However, several also defended Harris' stepdaughter at the time. According to them, Emhoff has the looks and figure of a model.
"She’s actually a pretty girl. There are other pictures of her on the Googles that probably fit into your lil box of what pretty is. You don’t have to have blues eyes and blonde hair with a valley girl look to be considered attractive. Grow up," one tweeted, siding with Ella.
"She looks like a lot of the runway models with no makeup. It was smart business on the part of IMG...it's marketing and this young lady will be marketable. She clearly has her own style," another added.
In May, Emhoff proudly shared snaps from her graduation on Instagram. She also thanked everyone who reached out to congratulate her and sent the same well-wishes to the other graduates.
"Graduated —— finally. love to my friends, family, and everyone who sent congrats I really appreciate you all," she wrote. "Congrats to everyone who graduated in this weird time—we made it."
