The Kansas City Chiefs shook up their roster Wednesday, trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for a slew of draft picks. Despite losing one of their best players, Kansas City remains one of the Super Bowl favorites.

Kansas City‘s odds to win the championship remain unchanged at BetMGM after the trade. The Chiefs have +900 Super Bowl odds, putting them behind only the Buffalo Bills (+650) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+750).

With Patrick Mahomes under center, the Chiefs are expected to have one of the league’s best offenses. In all four of his seasons as Kansas City’s starter, Mahomes has led the Chiefs to the AFC Championship Game.

Tight end Travis Kelce is now Mahomes’ No. 1 target. Kelce has finished with more than 1,000 receiving yards in six straight seasons.

In exchange for Hill, Kansas City received a 2022 first-round pick, a second-round pick and fourth-round pick in this year’s draft, as well as a fourth and sixth rounder in the 2023 draft. The Chiefs could use one of their top picks in the 2022 draft on a receiver.

JuJu Smith-Schuster is now the best receiver on Kansas City‘s roster. The Chiefs signed Smith-Schuster in free agency to a one-year contract. Before missing most of last season with an injury, the 25-year-old had 97 catches for 831 yards and nine touchdowns with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2020.

Kansas City likely isn’t done acquiring receivers as the team looks to make up for Hill’s lost production. The Chiefs have interest in acquiring Marquez Valdez-Scantling. The free agent had 26 receptions for 430 yards with the Green Bay Packers last season.

Mecole Hardman, Kansas City’s No. 2 receiver in 2021, is still on the roster for the 2022 season. Hardman set career-highs with 59 receptions for 693 yards as a third-year receiver.

Josh Gordon is back with the Chiefs. The veteran hasn’t reached the 300-yard mark since the 2018 season.

The Chiefs are still favored to win the AFC West with +135 odds. The Los Angeles Chargers are second at +270. The Denver Broncos (+280) are given a realistic chance to win the AFC West. The Las Vegas Raiders (+600) remain somewhat long shots, even after trading for Davante Adams and making the 2022 playoffs.

Mahomes is the co-MVP favorite with +700 odds to win the award.
