A Kansas meatpacking company is recalling approximately 50,100 pounds of ground beef after routine inspection showed they may be contaminated with E. coli.

The National Beef Packing Company, based in Liberal, Kan., said during a routine monitoring there was a confirmed presence of E. coli O157:H7 in the meat. The shipments were produced on July 18, 2013 and shipped in 40 to 60 pound cases to retailers, wholesalers, and food service distributors nationwide, the United States Department of Agriculture reports.

While the bacterium can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration and kidney failure – no cases have been reported from individuals who have eaten the meat, Reuters reports.

All recalled meat has the number "EST. 208A" inside the USDA mark of inspection, the department said.

This isn’t the first time the National Beef Packing Company has issued a recall. In June the company pulled nearly 23,000 pounds of ground beef for a possible E. coli contamination, the Kansas City Star reports.
