Kanye West, AKA 'Ye,' Releases 'Donda Deluxe' With Additional Unheard Songs, New Features
Kanye West, who recently changed his name to "Ye," dropped a deluxe version of his “Donda” album Sunday night, which includes new songs, new features, and added verses to his popular hits.
The new additions include more than 20 extra minutes to his songs “Life Of The Party” featuring Andre 3000, “Up From The Ashes,” “Never Abandon Your Family,” “Keep My Spirit Alive Pt. 2,” “Remote Control 2” with Young Thug that includes a new feature from Kid Cudi, and “Come to Life” featuring Tyler, the Creator's background vocals, along with other new tracks.
"I was inspired by his idea to make a musical tribute to his mom. It felt appropriate to me to support the Donda concept by referencing my own mother, who passed away in 2013," Andre 3000 told Variety about the track. "We both share that loss. I thought it was a beautiful choice to make a clean album but, unfortunately, I didn't know that was the plan before I wrote and recorded my verse."
Ye's original version of “Life of The Party” included a “diss” towards Drake. The new version omitted the diss. Last week, Ye said that it was time for the feud to come “to rest.”
"I'm making this video to address the ongoing back-and-forth between myself and Drake," he said in a video shared by J Prince. "Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it's time to put it to rest."
Ye also added late rapper DMX and his daughter to the ending of “Life of the Party” for a unique mix-up of the original.
Ye's deluxe "Donda" version is his longest album to date, which totals 2 hours and 11 minutes of music.
